The aim is to provide access for all three institutions to the unique sub-angstrom EM at ORNL and allow remote operation. This is set to be achieved via:

• establishment of a mechanism and process to allow remote use of ORNL electron microscopes on a regular basis
• establishment of a joint research programme revolving around use of electron microscopes at ORNL
• establishment of an educational programme revolving around use of electron microscopes at ORNL
• over time, creation of a shared instrument at the ORNL Nano Center
