On the 17th and 18th July 2006, AtlanTICC Alliance members from all three institutions gathered together for an Away Day at Cumberland Lodge, Windsor Great Park in the UK. The aim was to discuss the future directions of the Alliance and to discuss and refine scientific project proposals.
Both objectives were met with collective input from all attendees. The scientific projects which have now resulted can be viewed in the individual theme pages. Broadly the current focus on energy research and training encompasses biomass, bioenergy, biomaterials, organic photovoltaics, fuel cells, nuclear power and GRID technology.
At the Away Day each theme were given the opportunity to discuss and present their visions of the future. These were collectively grouped and now form the basis of the AtlanTICC Alliance Vision Statement.
