B2B3 (Biomass to Biopower, Biofuels and Bioproducts

The events of the last few years have brought to centre-stage the need for society to develop carbon-neutral, sustainable biofuels and biomaterials from biomass to supplement and replace our current dependence on the world’s finite fossil oil resources.  Years before today’s energy challenges, researchers and students at GT, ICL and ORNL had begun already to develop research and educational programs that envisaged the energy, environmental, and sustainability issues the world is now encountering.  It was almost natural that key faculty from these three organizations would come together to address these issues: hence, the AtlantICC Alliance for Biofuels, Biopower and Bioproducts was formed.

The current AtlanTICC Alliance B2B3 programme is a multidisciplinary, multi-partner effort directed at addressing USA and EU mandates for enhanced production of biofuels and other bioproducts from biomass with a special emphasis on the production of biofuels from lignocellulosics.
